Able Australia Services has been awarded a tender for the provision of disability services in Tasmania by the Minister of Health & Human Services, Lara Giddings, that will see Able Australia manage a further 14 facilities and support 44 people in the State’s supported accommodation houses in Launceston, New Norfolk and Hobart’s surrounding areas.

This year, in an effort to support the environment and reduce printing costs, Able Australia is encouraging everyone to view or annual report online.

Our decision to have the annual report online will save the organisation in printing and distribution costs and ultimately enable Able Australia to direct even more funds towards reaching out to people with multiple disabilities including deafblindness.

Able Australia has  launched a new Deafblind Resource Guide. 

The guide is available free of charge to educational organisations Australia wide and will help train people with deafblindness in using information and communication technology.

The guide is designed to assist educators in understanding the training requirements of people with deafblindness, and to enable deafblind students to access courses in higher education.
