Able Australia 2008 AGM
The 2008 Able Australia AGM was held on Monday 27 October at Nine Darling Street.
Our patron Peter Hitchener (pictured below with CEO Celestine Hare and President of the Board Peter Lidstrom), was on hand to present the Debbie Prior Award and the Certificates of Appreciation for 2008.

The Debbie Prior Award was developed in 1994 as a tribute to former employee Debbie, who was employed by the Deafblind Association from 1985 until her passing in 1993.
Emely McCord was announced the winner of the 2008 Debbie Prior Award and is pictured below left with Peter Hitchener. Emely is the Recreation & Volunteers Coordinator and works in the Deafblind Services Team. Emely was nominated for her infectious enthusiasm in developing new initiatives such as the Snow Camp for deafblind people, her dedication to improving her Auslan skills, her willingness to share her skills and knowledge and to support other areas of the organisation such as events and marketing, and the positive manner and bright attitude in which she approaches all of her work and her colleagues.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to Jan Flude (pictured below middle) and Antoinette Puzzolo (pictured below right) for their incredibly generous efforts in organising Able's Day on the Bay and for their ongoing passion in bringing new expereince to the people we support.
Long-time supporter of the Australian Charity Wine Auction, Trevor Knaggs from King River Estate, and long-time donor Elizabeth Ramsden were also acknowledged for their invaluable support.
Attendees also heard from The Honourable Mary Wooldridge and Able Australia staff member Meredith Prain.
