Deafblind Information

  • Deafblindness is a condition where an individual is both hearing and vision impaired – also referred to as ‘dual sensory loss’
  • People with deafblindness can have varying degrees of combined hearing and vision impairment. For example, a person may be:
    • Hard of hearing and partially sighted
    • Hard of hearing and totally blind
    • Profoundly deaf and partially sighted
    • Have complete loss of both senses
