Able Australia turns 50
Able Australia officially turns 50 today!
It was on this day (27 February) in 1967 that the first meeting of the Victorian Deaf Blind and Rubella Children’s Association was held in Kew.
Since then we have grown into a diverse and dynamic organisation that supports more than 4000 people with multiple disabilities (including deafblindness) and in need of community support around Australia.
We've changed a lot since that first meeting, but our determination and commitment to supporting people in need has not.
On this special day, we would like to thank our past and present staff, our donors, volunteers and of course, the many people we have supported over the past five decades for helping us to get to where we are today.
Here's to another dynamic and successful 50 years!
