Friends and Family Fun Day

Able Australia launched Deafblind Awareness Week 2010 at the Friends and Family Fun Day, which has been our tradition for the past 10 years. Our Patron, Channel 9 News Presenter, Mr Peter Hitchener, was there to honour us by opening the day’s proceedings.

The Friends and Family Fun Day was a relaxing and fun event providing social and networking opportunities for the people we support, their family and friends. Last year our guests enjoyed a sumptuous BBQ lunch and were be able to participate in a wide-range of fun and interactive activities, including massage therapy, painting workshops, games, jewellery making, and the very popular Australian Native Zoo Animals! A free introductory Auslan class was also provided for keen learners.
