Getting Wicked in Launceston

28 March 2017

Providing the people we support with opportunities they wouldn’t normally have is a fundamental part of what we do every day at Able Australia.

Last month our Launceston team supported a group of participants to attend a special performance of the stage musical, Wicked at Launceston’s Princess Theatre.

The activity was part of an inclusive theatre program that started in 2016 and is designed to provide opportunities for people with a disability to experience the arts at no cost.

Through an informal partnership with the theatre, participants are given the opportunity to attend a dress rehearsal of whatever their current production may be and experience the spectacle of live theatre. It’s the third time the group have been treated to the inclusive theatre experience, having already taken in performances of Pippin and the Little Mermaid.

The event was a great success and a tremendous thrill for both the participants and their families.
